Our teaching faculty brings together teachers who all have many years of both practice and teaching from a wide range of backgrounds and styles giving you the knowledge and confidence you need to find your own voice as a teacher. We also bring a wealth of experience beyond teaching into the business and practical side of teaching yoga with each of our trainers having successful yoga businesses in different ways showing what a diverse career this can be.
Shining Lotus 200 hour teacher training course provides a non-dogmatic, supportive, thorough and modern approach to yoga teacher training.
Our ethos is to provide a training that grows all the tools you need to be a knowledgeable, safe and inspiring yoga teacher. You will gain a good base of knowledge in anatomy and philosophy to underpin your teaching alongside in-depth and multilayered teaching skills. We strongly believe that yoga is for everyone and our course enables you to really understand how to teach yoga to the wide variety of students with different needs and levels of experience, so you can be confident in adapting your teaching to all.
As well as growing your knowledge and skills, yoga teacher training is a journey of personal growth and developing and refining your own yoga practice. And your will be part of an amazing supportive community with your fellow trainees and the course tutors.
In these times of current uncertainty we are offering a hybrid/blended training course. This gives you the benefit of starting the course online and in the comfort of your own home as we study some of the more theoretical aspects of the course over weekends and some Thursday evenings. From July - November we then switch to in-studio training in Hertfordshire to enable you to diver deep in the more practical elements of the training. By still having a large amount of in-person training you get to experience the nitty gritty of teaching in a room full of people that is difficult to replicate on line. We believe the the current climate this blended course gives you the best of both worlds and a really positive teacher training experience.
Course content is delivered in a variety of modalities including: online and in-person sessions, lecture and discussion, personal practice with feedback, teaching practice in partners, small group and large group settings, assignments and reviews, fun and exploratory learning exercises.

WHY ARE YOU OFFERING A MIX OF ONLINE AND IN PERSON TRAINING? WHAT IS THE BENEFIT?
We believe that the mix of online and in-person training offers you the best of both worlds. Online training has the benefit of you being able to do this from your own home (no travel), and to break some of the training down into shorter more regular sessions to help integrate the learning. These sessions will also be recorded so you have a great revision tool at your fingertips. In these uncertain times, it also means that you can start your training without the uncertainty of things being postponed due to coronavirus. From July - November 2021 the course will be run over live in-person sessions in Hertfordshire (location to be confirmed nearer the time due when student numbers and social distancing rules for the future are clearer). This means you get to practice teaching with your fellow trainees in a physical setting and experience the nitty gritty of being in person when teaching yoga. We also be able to explore concepts such as assisting and adjusting over these days.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN'T MAKE ALL OF THE TRAINING DATES?
Ideally, you will attend 100% of the course hours. However we know that there are sometimes unforeseen circumstances. You must attend a minimum of 85% of the course live. Missed online sessions can be made up by accessing the recordings of the sessions along with a check in with your tutor to ensure learning is up to date. This may include extra assignments depending on the content missed. Live in-person training missed will need to be made up with either a personal session with your tutor or additional assignments depending on content (there is an additional fee for personal catch-up sessions with a tutor).
I'M READY! HOW DO I APPLY?
